Pivot Ministries located in Bridgeport, Connecticut is a faith based recovery program for men who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Based on Christian values the program considers addiction as a spiritual disease and the only way to cure it is through faith, grace and change. The long term residential treatment center has a very clear and explicit structure of the change process with clear goals and objectives which are based on discipline, education and the support of the community.

The Three-Phase Recovery Model

The program has a three stage approach that enables men to move from a state of crisis to one of stability. The first phase provides a protected environment for the participants to move away from their addictions.

In the second phase residents are expected to attend class, learn life skills and receive biblical teaching that will help in the healing of the emotions and the building of the character. The last stage of the process is on career and reintegration, which aims at enabling men to go back to the society productively and with a new sense of responsibility.

What Families Need to Know

To a family member, Pivot Ministries offers a different way of tackling the problem of addiction. Although it does not have medical detox, outpatient programs or particular treatment for fentanyl, it does offer religion as a way of healing.
