About Clean and Sober Streets

Clean & Sober Streets located in Washington, D.C. provides a free long term recovery program for those in need. This program is for people who are homeless, have legal issues or have a history of substance use disorder. The program provides structure with a multi phase approach to sobriety. Stabilization, education and personal growth are the focus of it, to help people get a fresh start in life.

A Four-Stage Process

Where many rehab centers can provide short term care, Clean & Sober Streets has a step by step process that lasts for the long term. The residential program has four primary stages, which begin with stabilization and end with reintegration into society.

It is a gradual process where each stage is dependent on the other to ensure that individuals not only become sober but also learn life skills, vocational training and how to manage themselves to stay sober. Clients who have successfully completed 30 days of treatment can move on to an intensive outpatient program to ensure they continue to get the support they need as they get ready to live on their own.

More Than Cure

Recovery is more than just not using drugs. That’s why at Clean & Sober Streets they go further than just the conventional therapy approaches and also include holistic healing. In addition, residents receive art and music therapy, yoga, meditation and acupuncture. The facility also has a focus on community which includes peer support from 12 step meetings, group therapy and shared experiences.
