About Teen Challenge Southeast Region Corporate Office
Teen Challenge Southeast Region in Columbus, Georgia, is a faith based facility which provides a holistic approach to substance use recovery. They use spiritual growth and skill building along with emotional healing to create a full recovery experience that benefits all clients. They have a long term residential program with separate locations for men and women. They also have boys and girls boarding schools.
Faith-Focused Recovery for Sustainable Change
The faith based recovery program is not a quick fix to long term problems, which is why the residential treatment lasts a full year. A longer treatment time provides the time and consistency you need to dive deeply into the root causes of addiction. Each day you’ll participate in spiritual practices, group discussion, and personal reflection to help you build emotional resilience and take accountability for life choices.
For people who might have guilt or shame from past mistakes or worry about the social perception of being someone who uses substances, this type of program provides a way to rebuild a sense of self worth. In addition, the program focuses on the participants’ spiritual growth which helps them regain their self-esteem while at the same offering a way of dealing with the emotional and psychological problems that one may face in the process of recovery.
Constructing a Community and Tearing Down Walls
Teen Challenge makes recovery possible for everyone as the organization gets funding from the community to make programs accessible to everyone regardless of ability to pay. You’ll be in a communal setting which allows you to learn how to build healthy relationships.
The feeling of the place being home and the fact that it’s run by peers makes it easier for you to feel comfortable being vulnerable and sharing your true experiences and needs. Community reinforcement enables you to regain control of your life and move forward positively and free from substance use.
