Their psychiatry and behavioral medicine unit treats adults who have a wide range of conditions. This includes addiction, anxiety, depression, insomnia, mood disorders, relationship issues or coping with the struggles of other family members. Your care will start with a full evaluation. This assessment helps the clinical team develop a treatment plan for your needs. Each person’s plan may look different but could include a mix of their services. This includes individual or couples therapy, group counseling, medication management and referrals and connections with psychiatry services. If the care you need isn’t available at this location, they will connect you to the resources to best support you and your family. I like that they offer a dedicated mindfulness program. This eight-week program has different levels including an introduction group and an advanced group. This program will help you learn how to be present in the day to day moments. Mindfulness can be a great way to reduce stress and improve mental and physical stress. Groups include topics like mindful eating and a weekly drop in meditation group. They also have a stress management program. I like that Lahey offers 24-hour care with access to early morning and evening appointments. You are able to connect with a team member by phone or reach a community crisis center or the ER to help you if your issue is urgent or if you are in crisis.
