About Concord Hospital Laconia

Concord Hospital has several locations in New Hampshire, including the facility in Laconia. It’s by Lake Winnisquam. They offer substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment through a program called The Doorway which has a treatment center on 85 Spring Street in Laconia, New Hampshire. This is an outpatient facility that provides many treatment programs and services.

Concord accepts insurance from most major companies. They also accept some Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans.

The program starts with an assessment to decide on the appropriate care for your situation. Your assessment will be done by a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. This is an in-person assessment. If necessary, you’ll be referred to an inpatient substance use and mental health facility.

There are several specific programs offered in addition to regular addiction treatment. Two of these programs are the perinatal addiction treatment program and the neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) services. Some babies are born with drug addiction. If this happens, your baby will receive treatment free of charge. The therapies in this program include people to help cuddle and comfort your baby, live therapeutic music, and Reiki.

The perinatal period is the time your pregnancy begins until a year after birth. The perinatal addiction treatment program can help you with substance use and mental health issues throughout that time. You’ll be able to participate in individual counseling, education groups, and support groups.

For opioid use and alcohol use disorders, you may be referred for medication assisted therapy (MAT). MAT is offered through one of the partner facilities in Concord. MAT combines medications with therapy to manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

There are also intensive outpatient programs available for people 17 years of age and up. The Fresh Start program is an intensive four week program. You’ll participate three times per week for five weeks and each session is three hours.

There are multiple support groups available in this program. These include 12 Step recovery groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). They also offer SMART Recovery and families sharing without shame groups. The treatment hours at this facility are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They’re closed during the weekends.
