Without professional staff members present the program emphasized peer driven accountability to establish a foundation for independence and personal development.

What stood out to me is that the residents, at this recovery home, elected house rules while sharing domestic duties and maintaining peer accountability among themselves. Their democratic operational system enabled people to learn essential skills that supported their sobriety goals.

The peer led structure provided continuous motivation along with an automatic system of accountability. Residents at the home were able to receive outpatient treatment or therapy along with medication assisted treatment.
